Expert Team and Comprehensive Care
The team comprises highly experienced professionals, including cardiothoracic anesthetists, cardiothoracic intensivists, clinical perfusionists, surgical and intensive care nursing teams, respiratory and physical therapists, and dieticians. Their combined efforts are what result in exceptional outcomes and a multidimensional approach to patient care.
Our dedicated Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Units (CT - ICU) at Star Hospitals, stand at the forefront of cardiac care excellence. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and manned by a team of skilled healthcare professionals, our 14-bed CT - ICUs ensure round-the-clock monitoring and support for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, thoracic procedures, and other related interventions. The primary focus is on delivering personalized care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
Training and Innovation
A distinctive feature of the department is its commitment to knowledge sharing. Periodic training sessions, especially in
Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS), have been instrumental in upskilling
cardiac surgeons from various parts of India. Over 30 surgeons have benefited from these programs, actively performing MICS procedures. At STAR Hospitals alone, we have performed a
groundbreaking 1200 (MICS), keyhole surgeries, in the past decade.
Heart Failure and Future Directions
Recognizing the underserved need for heart failure and mechanical circulatory support, the Star Cardiac Services team actively employs extracorporeal membrane oxygenators (ECMO) for critically ill patients. The department is working towards expanding its offerings, aiming to become a center of excellence for heart failure therapies.
