Dr. Gopichand Mannam is a Senior Consultant and Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at STAR Hospitals, Banjara Hills, with 40 years of experience. He pursued fellowship training in General Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, followed by Cardiothoracic Surgery training at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. He has performed more than 43,000 cardiac surgeries and has extensive expertise in cardiothoracic surgery. He has pioneered beating-heart coronary bypass surgery and undersized donor heart transplantation in India, as well as minimally invasive atrial septal defect closure and mitral valve replacement.
